Traditionally yoga was always taught one on one however as a more cost effective measure for yoga students through group sessions, they have become the normal expected practice. You can now expect for yoga classes to have 15 to 20 students with some city classes containing 30 or more.

What Can I Expect to Pay?
Costs can vary greatly for private lessons however, if you speak to your yoga instructor they may be able to give you an idea of what a one on one lesson is likely to cost and also how the cost would reduce if you had one or two friends join you for a small group lesson.
As a general idea of cost, you should expect to pay $50.00 to $150.00 per lesson. There will sometimes be a minimum expected, for example a yoga instructor may only charge $50.00 for a 45 minute one on one lesson, but there may be minimum of three private lessons that must be booked and paid for.
How Many Private Yoga Lessons is Enough?
A minimum of 4 lessons is usually recommended with those who would be considered as having special needs through illness or injury. A minimum of 2 lessons would usually be enough for those wishing to have a home consultation just to improve home practice or to return to yoga practice after an extended break.
