What You Should Know About Workout Routines
First of all, if you've never exercised, you should always consult your physician before starting a new workout routine. Also, if you are just starting out, you should get an appointment with a Certified Personal Trainer. Don't be afraid to ask what their certifications are. Some of the better Certifications are American Council On Exercise, or a college degree in Exercise Physiology.
It's really important to choose something that will keep your interest, and that you enjoy. Many Personal Trainers will offer a free initial consultation, and they can be of great help. If you belong to a gym, take advantage of the local personal trainers. They will give you a lot of great information. Your Certified Personal Trainer can sit down with you, go over your goals, and guide you in a direction that is safe and effective. This is very important. Proper form when exercising reduces the risk of injury.
When choosing a workout routine, pick something that you find fun. For instance, maybe you like to dance, so, you could try a Zumba Class. Or maybe you enjoy Martial Arts, so, you could try a boxing or kickboxing class. Maybe you enjoy running, biking, or swimming.
You should always choose something you enjoy, or you could get bored and give up early. If you're a seasoned athlete, and you enjoy lifting weights, try choosing something different or learning some new weight lifting moves.
If you workout consistently, it's important to change your workout routine every 6 to 8 weeks. This helps keep your body changing, and your metabolism up. It also decreases boredom.
