5 Tips for Moderate Exercise Programs
You might be surprised how quickly moderate exercise programs can lead to better health and fitness. Moderate exercise can increase the amount of energy with just a few minutes a day.

Many of us can relate to feeling extremely tired after a day's work and our children are ready to run out and engage in some physical activity like basketball with us the minute we walk through the door.
You look at them and say, "Just give me a few minutes to rest and I will play with you later." But, instead of getting that much needed rest immediately, try joining them in a game of basketball, you might be surprised at how great you feel after a few minutes of physical activity.
Physical activity at a moderate pace for only 20 to 30 minutes can even make you feel better mentally! Research shows that moderate exercise improves your appetite and boosts your mental ability.

Some other great benefits... improves your night's sleep, promotes self discipline, lifts your spirits, relieves depression and it can have a positive impact on your perception of life.

When starting an exercise routine, it is best for first timers to try 15 minutes for 2 to 3 days a week. Once your body adapts, you can increase the time you spend and the numbers of days a week.
It is not wise to force your body! Always stop if you get hurt. You can take a break from exercising for a few days and then you can start again but remember, you need to start from day 1.

Moderate exercise should be something you enjoy. Here are some tips:

1. Take a brisk walk. You can walk your dog with a family member or friend. Try encouraging your family to do a brisk walk daily and you will find yourself burning calories while enjoying the surroundings and getting that much needed vitamin D for your body.

2. Play some sports activities. Many doctors recommend sports activities as an effective way to stay fit and healthy. So playing football, baseball, badminton or tennis with friends are a fun way to stay fit and healthy with moderate exercises. If you are as competitive as I am, losing a game can be somewhat stressful! Be a good sport and try not to take it too seriously... just enjoy the fun and burn the calories!
3. Check out exercise programs at work. If you do not have exercise programs at work, it can be a great project to start. Be sure to discuss the idea with your boss first and get approval. This exercise regime can be done in 20-30 minutes, maybe 3 or 4 times a week. This is a great way to burn calories and also a good way to bond with your colleagues.
4. Try yoga. If you are looking for a way to energize your body and your soul, then try Yoga. Some basic Yoga positions are not too complicated and can be very effective. A five-minute, basic yoga exercise can force you to relax as you are stretching. Yoga can give you a quick boost and recharge your body with the energy you lost doing the day.
5. Household chores. Vacuuming, doing laundry, gardening, lawn mowing, and washing the car are effective moderate exercises while doing those dreaded household chores at home. When your mindset is changed to accept the chores as a way to stay fit and healthy, it becomes fun and less of a chore. You begin to make use of those household jobs to sweat and burn calories.
Try ditching the gadgets and machines to perform certain jobs, whenever possible and do it with your hands. This is a good way to burn some extra calories and lose weight!

Make your daily routines a part of your moderate exercise program to become fit and healthy. Research shows that these moderate exercises of the same amount daily will burn approximately 120 calories to 1,200 calories a day!
